Halloween Part 1

THE PUMPKIN

Collin started the pumpkin project a few days ago. He found the perfect pumpkins in Prescott and asked the boys what they wanted their pumpkins' faces to look like. Luckily, we had a book so choosing the pumpkin face was EASY! First step...draw the faces.

Collin doing the pre-draw.

Our inspiration...

Halloween day, after church and some napping (Collin's nap that is), we started the carving. It's nice that every year the kids get more involved.

Carving with Daddy.

The hand grab for the knife.

Surprise, surprise...Cutter was all about cleaning the guts out.

Christian not so much...

I am not touching it!

Finally...he mans up!

Good work boys!!!

PURE MASTERPIECES!!!

Gearing Up....

Last night we tackled the big Halloween costume decision. I think some were getting worried I was waiting too long, but I know my kids!!! We went from Cutter wanting to be nothing and not caring about trick or treating, to a football player, police man, to a vampire, then back to the police officer. Christian seemed to be pretty locked in to his decision in the beginning on being Iron Man, and even had his one liner, "I am Iron Man". That's all we heard, then in the last few weeks, we went from Iron Man, to Transformers (Megatron and Bumble Bee), then an acrobat (WTH?), to the final choice...GI JOE. That came out of nowhere! ANYWAY...we headed off to the Halloween Superstore and hit pay dirt!

Here we are...

The browsing begins...

The final decsions...

The biggest shocker was how freakin' expensive costumes were?! Who knew?! Cutter's will for sure be recycled for next year, if I have any say!!!

Next Halloween happening...PUMPKINS!!!

The Van

Oh the things that entertain my children?! Collin had to take his car in, so he ended up with a rental, a mini-van! The best part of this is...Cutter loves the doors on vans...he even stalks this one little girl after school, just so he can walk to her car and watch her van door open and close!!! NUTS!!! Needless to say, he's been in heaven with the rental van!

Christian got in on the action too.

Oh, I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow when the old car shows up?!

Our Weekend at a Glance...

Whew...it's Sunday...everyone's in bed...and it has been brought to my attention that I am "slipping" in my blog posts. (So says my hubby.) ANYWAY...I am tired, but gotta do a post. :) So despite ASU losing...or getting crushed...we managed to have some fun. This weekend we fit in some gymnastics, soccer, ASU, family, the park, dinner out, church, AND guess what...the dirty carnival was back...AGAIN!!! WOO HOO! I didn't get it together picture wise for most of these outings, but I did come through on the park and the DC...aka...dirty carnival!!! :)

We busted out the bikes for the 1st park trip this year!

We did some swinging...

some backward sliding...

and some climbing.

That was Saturday...now our DC Sunday...
We got in some funhouse activities.

Cutter braved the mini roller coaster this time.

Christian looks thrilled doesn't he?!
Cutter got to go on his fave the Sizzler and unfortunately he was a few inches too short.

THE GRAND FINALE...
Both boys tackled the big FUN slide!

All in all it was a good yet tiring weekend!
Glad it's Monday tomorrow, because I need a rest!!!

MMMMMM....COOKIES!!!

This past weekend we headed up to my parents for the night. We got out of the heat and even got to play in the rain. I L-O-V-E the rain!!! Anyway, my mom is always good at having lots to do for the boys, and this time was no different. Baking cookies was on the agenda, and a huge success! I was surprised they were so into it, and now have a new go to activity. :)

My mom knew just how to get them involved & taking turns.

Christian was a cookie baking pro!

The big taste...delish!!!

I might need to invest in some cookie cutters for these two. :)

It's that time of year...again!

SOCCER IS BACK!!!

That's right, we have started soccer season, and had the boys' first games this past Saturday. Cutter and Christian will never be able to be on the same team due to age, BUT we are happy to say they have both improved since last time. I might even have to put some money down on Christian to take out a few players after he got in a head butt this past Saturday. TOTALLY accidental of course, but it sure showed us his aggressive approach to the sport! :)

Oh, soccer, we are glad you are back!

Just a friendly reminder...

Take the time to stop and smell the roses!
Or in this case, some random yard flowers. :)

Kindergarten Happenings

Today was the day we celebrated Johnny Appleseed at Cutter's school. It was my first go at helping out in the class...to sum that up...EXHAUSTING!!! All the moms were in charge of an apple activity station. It was fun, but I found that being that involved doesn't lead to me getting ANY pictures! WTH! I was lucky in the end to get one. Woo hoo! (I do say that w/ a bit of sarcasm.) :)

This is the class in their apple glasses.

Ah, the happy participant.

To finish the morning I asked Cutter who Johnny Appleseed was.
The answer, "He is a man who walks with no shoes."

REALLY....that's it?!

I am thinking Cutter might not have been too impressed by Mr. Appleseed. ;)
