And I quote...

So we know Cutter has an obsession with straws. The other night...well last night...he wanted a straw I had. I said he could have it, IF he got rid of 2 of his other straws. (Seriously...this kid stockpiles, and they are chewed, folded up or beat up, but geez louise getting him to get rid of them... a pain.) They start to drive Collin crazy after there are too many. Therefore, we try to limit them. ANYWAY...he's like no, no, no...and then the kicker, out of nowhere...AND I QUOTE...

"BUT MOM...IT'S MY THING!"

I'm sorry, did he say his "thing"?! How does he even know what a "thing" is?!

Ok, ok, with an answer like that you can keep your "thing"! Who am I to argue with that reasoning?! Sorry Collin...the straws stay. Didn't you know they were his "thing"?

HILARIOUS!!!

RUN...FOREST...RUN!!!

Yesterday was the day...I started back to the world of running. I was all gung ho the first of the year (new year's resolution) then as soon as I started, I was finished. I got some type of foot injury, had some physical therapy, and now after some added laziness, am ready to hit the road again. Now, since I have not manned up to get my "ahem" out of bed to run before the kiddos wake up, I must resort to their company if Collin is not home. Not wanting to lose momentum, I packed them up in the jogger and off we were!

We started off strong, and with 3 miles as my goal, I was determined to make it running, no walking, at least the first mile and a half before I gave into the "Mommy, I want to run. Mommy, I want to get out" cries. WOO HOO! I made it! I needed a breather, so....

I guess it was their turn. They started off strong.

I let them race some cars.

Christian was trying to stay ahead of this girl walking home from school. Not an easy task, she was on a mission!

He needed some water after that.

Cutter and Christian finally ran out of gas.

Oh, and here's Christian being Christian.
(PLEASE, could he just sit.)

They seemed to be wearing themselves out, so the rest of the way was pretty relaxed. That is until the race home.

I guess we know who won.

Maybe I should just get my "ahem" out of bed next time. :)

A ZOOper DAY!

Today the boys and I hit the zoo for our last free trip. Our membership expires Sunday, so I figured we had to have one last hurrah. The funny thing is, in all the time that we've been members (at least 5 years) I have never once taken the boys by myself, until today! We picked Cutter up from school and we were off! Let me tell you, if every trip would be like it was today, I almost would reconsider the renewing of membership. The weather was FAB and the kids were FABULOUS!

We saw some animals.

Cutter is all about the button pushing for the animal info.

We visited the children's area, Harmony Farm, only to play.
(Like, I am taking them anywhere near the petting zoo on my own! You know how many germs are in there! UGH!)

I let go of my fear of the over crowding children craziness and let them spend some time in the big "tree house". (Cutter's term)

AWESOME! They stayed right together so no worries!
(it was pretty cleared out by the time we played)

OH, it's not a complete trip to the zoo without a ride on the carousel.

(Jamie, how's my one arm shot?!)

Thank you Phoenix Zoo for some good times and good memories!

FRIDAY DATE NIGHT!!!

FOR THESE TWO BOYS...

I am sure there is a manlier term than date night, so I will have to work on that. ANYWAY...seeing as how we are still in the sick zone, I thought since Christian was better he deserved to get out of the house. So, voila, night out with Dad! Collin has an aunt in town so he took Christian for a little din din with his fam. PERFECT!

I got him showered and looking cool.

Oh, and let's not forget he was armed with entertainment of his own. I was hoping it would make dinner more enjoyable. :)

Bye bye boys...the other child and I will stay home and chill. What was funny was 15 min. after they left Collin texted and Christian had fallen asleep. Thank goodness for the power nap, because from what I hear he was pretty quiet and well behaved at dinner. Whew!

Don't worry about Cutter he got some goods too...McDonald's!

The good news...I think tomorrow will be our turning point with Cutter. He might just be on his way to finally being healthy! I'm sure the Mickey D's dr. mommy prescribed will help. :)

My fingers are crossed!!!

LOVE month...more like SICK month!!!

So, seriously, it feels like this whole month we've been battling colds, runny noses, throw up, coughing, croup, and fevers! PLEASE, I can't take it anymore! I really thought life would resume as normal tomorrow, BUT, at about 1:30 this afternoon Cutter had a fever of 101.1. Which means no school tomorrow (AGAIN) until he has had a normal temp. for 24 hours. PLEASE, I am going crazy! I almost have to say that what's making me crazy now is the fact that he seems pretty normal other than that fever, and Christian is now finally back to normal. Hmmmm....so what do we do on sick days???

We do puzzles...

Cutter builds ski houses and watches TV. :)

Christian plays with his trains.

They get a yummy lunch!

Oh, and some rest...Cutter must not feel good if he's taking a nap!

Although, not all was lost for mommy...I cleaned out the pantry!

I guess we'll do it all again tomorrow. Let's hope it will be fever free at least. :)

What to clean, what to clean???
