Fraser and Winter Park

During this trip to Colorado we had the perfect balance of doing stuff and hanging out. One activity was to head to Fraser, CO and Winter Park for the day. We did a little snow tubing and sight seeing. Not going to lie...I thought the whole snow tubing thing would be the best time, but I was freakin' freaked out once we got there. It was icy, fast, and steep! I am totally one to shy away from adventure, so thank goodness for mi amigo in fright, Cutter! It helped he wasn't too into speeding down the slope to his death either. SOOOO...I played the mom card for awhile..."Oops, sorry guys, I have to stay with Cutter. You all go ahead...have fun...dying!" Once again there was good weather, so it was easy to just hang out and be a spectator. I did man up and managed to fight my fear, but Cutter...not a chance! I will admit it was a great time!!! OH...needless to say Christian was his usual crazy self and totally on board with sliding to his death! WEEEEEEE....

I am not surprised by this AT ALL!!!

Now...my little engine who could...

Or not...I think he's saying "Bye dad...I will just see you when you get back!"

FINALLY...not to be outdone by my 2 year old...

That's right...we were off...next up...WINTER PARK!!!

Had I known how cool Winter Park was going to be we would have eaten lunch there and spent more time checking it out. It's a cool little ski town tucked in the side of the mountain. Totally cute little village, and strangely enough lots more snow than Fraser. I say strange because literally they are minutes apart...we are talking down the street kinda thing. Also crazy was by the time we left our nice weather I swear I saw a 20 something degree number when we were getting out of the car to start our Winter Park voyage. BRRRRRR....was all I could say so it was a fast visit. Sorry Winter Park we'll definitely come back to see you!!!

Hmmmm....where did all this snow come from???

FAMILY PHOTO OPS...

Gotta have a family pic in the snow!!!

Again...it wouldn't be complete without a tasty treat for Christian...this cookie lasted him the whole ride home!!!

The picture doesn't do the cookie justice. It was HUGE!

Greg and Kizra, thanks for another great day in Colorado!

Littleton, Colorado

OF COURSE...while we are in Colorado we MUST visit Littleton, and visit the Hosack's! The Hosack Family consists of Kenny, Barb, Halley, John, and Maddie...they are Collin's uncle, aunt, and cousins. WE LOVE THEM! It is always a good time when we get to hang with them! They are always so good to us!!! The bonus is Halley now goes to NAU (Northern Arizona University) so we get to see her quite a bit more. She'll often bless us with her presence every now and then and actually stay for a weekend. The boys love it because she is the best at playing Lincoln Logs!

I just can't say it enough...WE LOVE THE HOSACK'S!!!

Cutter played some ping-pong.

Cousin John hooked them up with some Starfall on the big screen. He was a trooper going through most of the alphabet one by one. :)

Halley and Maddie were even kind enough to read a bit to Christian. This always ends with "again...again".

The night would not have been complete without ice cream!

Thank you Hosack's for the delish pizza, cold beer, and quality family time!!! We loved every minute we had with YOU!!!

OUR COLORADO THANKSGIVING...

OK...finally...I have found the time to get Thanksgiving on the family blog. MAN...between unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, and fighting a cold, I finally get to post. SO, without further ado...here we go! We hopped on a plane and headed to Denver, Colorado. My brother and SIL live out there and we were totally stoked early on to get smokin' flight deals to go visit. We all (grandparents too) set up camp under 1 roof and it was a good time!

WEATHER was AWESOME, so needless to say come 9:30 AM, our first morning, the boys were ready to play!

Of course in the snow!!!

This same snow ritual seemed to happen daily. So, come Thanksgiving morning, I am sure they were thankful for the SNOW!

On Thanksgiving morning I was thankful for this...

MIMOSAS!!! WOO HOO!!!

We had a delish breakfast with Kizra's (SIL) family and headed to the park for some more Thanksgiving day fun!!!

There was also an awesome field and lake to check out as well.

OH, and of course MORE SNOW!!!
WATCH OUT!!!

YUM...YUM...YUM!!!

FINALLY...we headed off to Kizra's aunt's house for our turkey. She has a huge family so we knew it would be a good time. Surprise of the evening, Cutter could not get enough turkey!!! Oh, and Christian wanted lots and lots of "eggs" AKA mashed potatoes. :) Go figure.

The kids table with our new friend Emma.

And what Thanksgiving would be complete without a little Rockband!!!

HEY MISTER! Where are you going???

That's right...you are going here...

The Devner Broncos were playing the New York Giants.

Collin scored a night out in Denver, on Thanksgiving no less, with some highschool/college friends and went to the football game. Again, the weather was great so it was an enjoyable football experience.

It was a GREAT Thanksgiving day for all!!!

Tis' the season...I guess?!

So geez...it's been a bit in between posts and really, is it Christmas time already? I guess it is for the Kennedy's! Collin and I go back and forth with living in Anthem considering most of our life is in town. However, what you can't beat is the amount of fun family activities Anthem seems to have. Another plus, we love that whenever there is something to do up here it's nice that we are always close to home.

This weekend's activity...the outlet mall tree lighting.
I think it's usually this time of year, right before Thanksgiving, to get you in the festive mood. I think this is only our 2nd time going, but now that our kids are actually getting the Santa thing, having his presence there should do wonders for our kids' behavior! It's nice to now get to use the "Santa's watching you" line. We had a good family dinner out before then headed over and made it just in time for Santa to appear and light the tree. I think Christian had the best seat in the house. :) You can't go wrong with Santa, lights, and music!

Of course you've got to get ice cream...well yogurt in this case...YUM!

OH, and for sure wear out the kids with some playtime!

Well, well, well, surprise someone is not happy to go...

Seriously, he kept this up all the way home!

Like I said...good thing we live close!!!

Let the holiday season begin!!!

LEFTOVERS...

As I said in my previous post, Collin and I went crazy at dinner with all the food at PF Changs, so really by the time we got dessert it was more of an indulgence than a want. SO the sweet little boys we missed that night lucked out! We made sure to save them save of the delish chocolate cake we had! It worked as a fabulous bribe through yet another restaurant outing we had last night. Cutter and Christian could not wait to get home to EAT!

Really, do we expect any less from this kid?
You gotta love him!

HMMMMMM....

I wonder...our boys have a perfectly good bunkbed to lay their sleepy heads on...

so I wonder then...why do our children choose to sleep like this?

From what Christian tells me the mattress bed is more fun to sleep on!

Therefore, I thank my kids for my new exercise routine, because day in and day out to accommodate their new sleeping style, I am moving mattresses in the AM and in the PM.

I better get some good looking arms out of this deal!

It's peanut butter jelly time! WELL...just peanut butter!

Today is a great day in the Kennedy house...believe it or not we have a sandwich eater! Now we can add a new food choice to lunch time! WOO HOO!!!

BACKSTORY...my kids don't eat sandwiches...due to my early mothering skills I never really got into introducing them to my kids. I didn't think their little mouths could actually eat through all the layers. Weird, I know...but now 4 years later we have the plain peanut butter sandwich!!!

All good things come to those who wait!
