With kids..to Skunk Creek Flats! We have been to SCF before, but let me tell you, it's now the place to go AND bring our kiddos. We hit a friends bday, and had a GOOD TIME!!! There was a bounce house, playset, bull riding, a band, and plenty more to explore! There's nothing better than the kids wandering to and fro, and coming back to home base to check in! LOVED IT!!!

That's right, Cutter and Christian, your dad is pretty cool! He proved it this weekend, when he gave the Tough Mudder a whirl. He successfully made it through the 12 1/2 mile course and all 29 obstacles! Way to go Collin!!!

This was New Year's Eve day, and we packed it in!

Christian was feeling it and wanted to hit ski school.

CHRISTMAS EVE

We headed to Collin's parents house for dinner. The kids got to open a couple more presents, and added more goods to what they already got the day before.

Then we headed home so Christian could put out his reindeer food.
He made sure to let Koda know it's not for her!

BRING ON CHRISTMAS DAY!!!

My family arrived and the piles started.

Then the madness began.

Perfect gift from my parents for the straw loving boy.

Also, there has been a lot of Lego building going on.

Cutter even stayed in his pj's all day!

We had some good food, good company, and a good time!

Allow me to tell you a story about the good times of being a "homeroom mom". Oh wait, I can't, because there are none!!!

As you are in bed, resting, warm, and snuggled up, I am slaving away in the kitchen, still unshowered, in gym clothes, lower back hurting, and making 13 gingerbread houses for a 4 year old preschooler who lives here! After these lovely homes are made, I must then transport them back to school, still standing, so that on Thursday your classmates can stick candy on them, which they will then take home, and their dog will probably eat! AWESOME...all my hard work gone! Good times!!!

Don't think you are off the hook, my little 6 year old! I probably have a backache because yesterday I was bent over your play picnic table, spray painting 8 egg cartons, of which I had to go back to the store for more paint, AND now have a sore forearm from pushing down the stinking nozzle from which the paint comes out! I did manage to wake up (figured I would have been dead from the fumes) and the fun started all over again. I then had to cut these egg cartons, so I would have 90 something pieces, which each piece then had to have a hole punched in it, and then bagged for separate classes. SO FUN!!!

All this joy...

So, like your brother on Thursday, you and your classmates can make this...

Yes, I will post this, because who knows where this keepsake will be in 10 years?!
I bet chewed up by a dog! Good times!

Well, my handsome boys, the good times are that I can do this for you. I will probably be back working in a couple years, so I will take all the good times that my "homeroom mom" title gives me. In the end, I am truly blessed that your dad works so hard, so I can be there for you both. I LOVE IT and I LOVE YOU!!! NOW...off to shower!!!

It was a rainy day, so we made some treats.

The festivities started the day before at Cutter's Thanksgiving Picnic.

Who needs turkey when you can have McDonald's?!

We were outta here on Thanksgiving morning, and headed up north.
Nothing better than being in the mountains for some holiday fun.

UGH...this was a taste of dirtiness before.
After we ate, they went at it again...
SOOOO DIRTY!!!

I luckily found a Walgreen's open in Camp Verde,
where I purchased some Oxiclean spray.
It was a MIRACLE WORKER!!!

We did manage a clean family pic.

Thanksgiving came to a close at my aunt's and we went back to my parents for one more night.

The kids had some FUN & I got to relax. :)

We are starting them young with some driving lessons.

Christian even made us breakfast before we headed back home.

It was the perfect holiday, with just the right mix of rest and fun!

We had Optimus Prime and Charlie Brown.

Once again the kids were easy, and did one round and were done. We did have a tripping incident before we started, but luckily we bounced back and enjoyed the night.

Earlier in the day we did have Christian's school party.
It consisted of crafts, a hay ride, cupcakes, and pumpkin picking.
Good times...good times.

Another Halloween is in the books.

This year's pumpkin carving happened over 2 days. One day was clothed, the other not so much. What it entailed, was 2 boys watching Collin go to work on each kid's pumpkin. Funny enough, they are both not into cleaning the guts out. Oh, they are so delicate!!!

A Weekend Visitor

so we made sure we kept him busy.

We took him to gymnastics.

On Saturday we made sure he knew the importance of ASU Football.

All in all, he was the perfect house guest!

This weekend we took a little day trip up to my aunt's cabin to meet our cousin's new baby. He was cute, but I gotta admit that one of the best parts up there was getting to wear a sweatshirt! WOO HOO!!! The boys had a GREAT time, and as much as I am not a Thanksgiving fan, I might be starting me a countdown for when we head up there next.

We FINALLY got together!!! Our old school playgroup...Kari, Kristy Kay, and newly moved home Andrea. We even made it work with a last minute plan to meet for lunch at Peter Piper. To think we started out together when Cutter and Kai were first born w/ playdates, and NOW they are going into FIRST GRADE! We have had many new additions since then too!!! The kids range from 1st grade, pre-K, and preschool. Like I always say...where does the time go???

In a nutshell, we swam nonstop, watched fireworks with Wyatt and Sawyer, had a bbq on Saturday, on Sunday, and Monday! Oh, and the most important...we squeezed Transformers in too! I think I am happy to see the 4th go?! Now, without further ado, please enjoy my boring post. :)

SAN DIEGO (part 1)

San Diego 2011 was FAB! Four families, 9 kids, condos on the beach! Is there a better way to spend the week?! I think not!

I wasn't sure how to break down the week, so decided to start with some beach pics. Most of our days were spent on the beach, with kids racing the waves, and playing in the sand. Out of 7 days we had about 3 really sunny days. It was nice, but I L-O-V-E me those San Diego overcast days!

After we put the kids to bed last night, Cutter comes back out with a bloody mouth. He said he thought his tooth was much looser. REALLY....what were you doing in bed besides not going to sleep?! He must have been doing some serious tooth wiggling! Christian was asleep,
so we got to work on getting his tooth out.

NEXT...last night Cutter and I hit the Diamond Canyon 8th grade promotion.
My 2nd grade class was graduating!
How old does that make me feel?!

He says this is his "I love you" face.

I loved having Cutter there because this was the class that I had when I was pregnant with him. It almost felt like we had come full circle.
I mean, some of my 2nd graders have even become my babysitters!

All of these girls were at Cutter's baby shower.

Oh the memories!!!

Which now leads to a BIG memory...

After the promotion, we came home & hit the bathroom.

Cutter had a tooth that he just had to get out!

The last resort...the big pull!

Music in May

Last night we utilized the happenings of Anthem. After 8 years in this place, my friend Paige, finally got us to partake in an activity, that is not of the carnvial type. Music in May was the event...which is when different bands play in the park, during the month of May. Luckily, we hit it when it was old school R & B night! It was a good way to spend a Friday night in Anthem!

The kids ran amuck.

Cutter took some time to just chill.

UNTIL...he could not let go of wanting to go on the playground.

for putting up with him!

Tonight, Cutter had his first school program.

It was called Lemonade.

It all started with Christian.

We had to hit the grocery store.
During our shopping, he saw some fruit roll ups,
and says, "Mom, can I get one for me and Cutter? I want to surprise him!"

He sure can be sweet when he wants to be!

From there...

They played marbles TOGETHER.

Then TOGETHER played trains.

They even had some downtime,
and were in agreement with what to watch.

The evening even ended with Cutter sacrificing his blue otter pop, to make Christian happy.

MY PLAN B MOTHER'S DAY

SERIOUSLY...2oo posts??? WAHOO!!! I am still lovin it, and will soon get around to making those FAB blog books. It is more than fitting that I be the topic for such a big milestone! :) With that said, let's bring on Mother's Day 2011...it was one for the books! Let me just preface this with the fact that we were supposed to be in Flagstaff, kicking it at Uncle Kane's hotel, eating Oregano's, and meeting the newest member of the Kennedy Clan. Well, that didn't happen...

So, Mother's Day started here last night,
with a mommy and boys sleepover in the family room.

Why was daddy not a part of this? So glad you asked...he was down with what he was thinking was food poisoning. We were hoping that by Sun. morning he would be doing better and we would be able to head up to Flag for the day. Well, after the morning got going, and Flagstaff was not an option, and Christian had already been in timeout twice before 9 AM, I was done with Mother's Day, and declared it "just another day". GRRRRRR....I started cleaning, and if anything, WAS getting out of the house, just to avoid any germs if Collin's food poisoning theory was really the flu. I took a shower, and decided to wash away the bad vibes, and start anew. I was a mom, and my kids are a gift. I should not take that idea for granted. I mean think of all the women out there who wish they could be moms. :( I needed to step it up! I got the kids ready and we were off...PLAN B was about to unfold.

FIRST STOP: Lunch at PPP

I know it might be shocking, but we did have this place pretty much to ourselves. Also, it might seem like a silly choice, but I LOVE PPP, and I actually could just sit there and relax.

My friend, Roxanne, was out of town, but said to go on over and swim!

WE SURE DID!!!

We headed home after, and Collin was showered and feeling better. His fam stopped by on the way home from Flagstaff, and they even had gifts. (Always a good thing!) All in all, the day ended nicely. Cutter and Christian, I am blessed to have you two in my life! I L-O-V-E you!!!

I figured I would start off Mother's Day weekend doing something fun with the boys. I've not been the most patient or dare we even say, nicest mom, so I was making this the day I would officially be forgiven. Cutter had a half day, so I decided we should hit the movies. RIO was the choice, so off we were.

We had our last kindergarten field trip today. The Wildlife World Zoo was our destination. I like to call this the dirty zoo. Not so much for hygenic reasons, it's just got a lot of dirt! I broke the rule of bringing siblings, and took Christian along for the ride. The beauty of that...no bus ride!!! We had a good time!

WHEW...this weekend is ending in exhaustion! We started Friday with dinner out at Grimaldi's. We met the Singer's, who we haven't seen in forever! (Sorry, no pics!) It was YUMMY!!! Saturday, soccer is back! Due to Cutter's untimely injury, we pulled him from soccer, so this season it's all about Christian! WAHOO! He even has a friend this time around. :)

After the game we were off to my parents house in Camp Verde.
There was plenty of Easter fun to be had.

We did a little egg decorating.

That's right, Collin and Cutter just got home from a late afternoon at John C. Lincoln. Now, we weren't there, but according to Christian, Cutter was playing Wipeout on the slide, and he WIPED OUT!!! When he didn't stop crying and his elbow swelled up, we thought a visit was necessary. Once again, KUDOS to Collin for coming through with the camera phone. :)

With a diagnosis of a fracture of the right radius, we now need to go to the ortho for another x-ray. After that we'll know what our timeline is for this arm contraption.

Today I officially no longer have a baby. :( I feel like 3 is still worthy of "my baby" status, but at age 4, I am willing to call Christian a little boy! Plus, it really feels like that kid has been 4 this whole time. Not being one for themes, this party was a no brainer! Christian LOVES trains, so we headed to the McCormick Stillman Railroad Park and had a good ol' time!

For forever, I have been saying that I am going to make only one dinner and everyone has to eat it! Well, with Cutter about to turn 6, that has yet to happen. UNTIL TONIGHT...I went for it! I really went for it, because I made a meal that I have never even attempted to make either child eat...SOUP! I got a recipe for taco soup I have been meaning to make since Monday. I took the boys with me to the store, and as I was getting the ingredients, I kept saying, "WE ARE HAVING SOUP FOR DINNER!!!"

It was a hit with everyone, except...
that's right...you guessed it...C.U.T.T.E.R!!!

Last night we tackled Cutter's "family project". He gets a monthly project in kindergarten for the family to do together. Well, I have my creative control issues, so this time I let go and let him make the decisions. He needed to make a holder for his valentines he'll get on Monday in school. The only rule was it had to stand on it's own. I took him to Michaels and let him pick what he needed. We came home with a red bag and some stickers. EASY PEAZY!!! OH, and the best part, very clean. :)

Christian needed a bag too. We had to keep the peace.

SURPRISE...SURPRISE...Cutter made it through all day ski school this year!!! He was very adamant about NOT going to ski school. However, something made him change his tune and on our 2nd day he was off to learn to ski by himself. We made sure to sneak over later to get a few pics.

DAY 2 in Telluride was a mommy and Christian Walker day. It was TOO FUN!!! Cutter was away at ski school...so I took my one kid, Collin's dad, and we headed out for the afternoon.

We met up with Collin for lunch.

Day 1

This year instead of a ski trip to Durango, we headed to Telluride. It was FAB and just might be our new favorite place to ski. HA...I say that like I ski! Here's a sneak peek into our vacay:

We had to check out the furnicular...it was an option to get you to/from the run. Honestly, I thought this is how my day would be spent...riding it over and over. Surprise, we only rode it once!

I know...I have really lagged...AGAIN!!! This past week we have been dealing with colds...AGAIN...and I am really hoping this is the last of it. I know, wishful thinking, but I am really done with germs!!! With that said, we were lucky enough to be well enough to attend a birthday party this past weekend. It was for our little friend Capri, who was turning 2. So off we were to her PINK party at the Sugar Bowl.

Thursday we took off after Cutter got out of school and we headed to Flagstaff. We were off to meet the Friedman's so we could take a trip on the Polar Express. It was the perfect way to start getting in the holiday spirit. The best part...SNOW!!!

Last night we had a family outing to get the kids with Santa pic for 2010. We skipped last year, Cutter was not down w/ Santa, and really he isn't feeling it this year either. He is very selective in what Santas' he likes. His decision of whether he likes Santa or not comes down to the type of glasses they have, if they have glasses, how they look, and I am sure a multitude of other things he just hasn't told us. Right now the front runner for Santa is the one on Dora. He has no glasses! Taking this to mind, we had NO IDEA how this was going to go. Nonetheless, Collin and I were prepared, by this I mean dressed appropriately, in case we became part of the picture.

Our tree took a good few days to get up. We took the "go in stages" approach. FINALLY, 2 days ago we got to decorating it. Since we lagged so much, I didn't make a production of it. We just picked Cutter up from school one day and got to it.

We are still on cloud 9 here in the Kennedy House!!! Our Sun Devils came through in the end, despite a below average season, AND beat U of A!!! We took the kids and headed over to the McCarty's new house to watch the big event. BIG it was!!! So big that we didn't get home and in bed until quarter to 12, which made going to kindergarten this morning a little rough. The things we do for our sun devils! We made it in time to school, while Christian slept in til almost 10. I will say I am disappointed in my pics, because all my good ones were blurry....so sad!!! :( OH WELL...WE WON...WE WON!!!

Yesterday Cutter had his first kindergarten field trip! WOO HOO! The destination was Tolmachoff Farms in Glendale or Peoria. I was ready to take on the field trip experience from the parent side, rather than the teacher side. :) Cutter learned about corn & went through a corn maze, avoided the train, picked some vegetables, had some lunch, played a bit, and got filthy in the corn box. Despite him being ready to leave after about 45 min into it, it was a GREAT time! (THANK YOU COLLIN, for working sooooo hard, so that I can have moments like these with our boys!)

THANKSGIVING 2010

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

So these were my last minute "gotta have some Thanksgiving pics" attempts. Our turkey day consisted of...staying in town last minute, Dad and Cutter going to his parents, Mom having a sore throat and staying home w/ croupy Christian, watching Toy Story 3, eating cheetohs and left over pizza. What a feast that was!!!

Needless to say, things didn't work out the way they were planned,
BUT all in all it was a good day!!!

I just thought I would post a couple things happening here. Well, we have gone from colds, to hives, to croup! AWESOME! Luckily it's all Christian and Cutter managed to come through his cold fast and with no other issues. Christian's hives really started coming before our Christmas tree outing, BUT we were getting out regardless!

This is me driving Christian around at 4 AM on Monday morning. It's what we do to clear up his cough. We drive around with the windows open so he can breathe in the cold air. He must not have been in the mood to smile.

We took a trip to the dr. and he was given a clean bill of health. However, he was given some DISGUSTING medicine for his cough!!! I tried 1st to give it him and knew there was no hope without trying to disguise it. I called for reinforcements...DAD...to get him something to mix it in. Gatorade was the choice and this stuff was so DISGUSTING a whole bottle of it wouldn't help. Next...Hi C drink from McDonald's and a talk about "you just gotta take it, and then take a drink right after...if you don't mom and dad will pin you down!!!" So Christian chose to do it on his own. :)

However, I know it was freakin' payback for me doing the same thing when I was little.

In the end Christian won and we didn't attempt anymore.

TODAY...we had Cutter's Thanksgiving picnic at school. So we took Christian and his cough and headed out. I could not wait for the looks I was going to get once Christian started barking like a seal. You gotta do what you gotta do.

LASTLY...we will be making a trip later to Walgreens, AND lucky Christian will get some ice cream! He doesn't know it yet, but we'll even get him a topping for it! Our choice...another prescription, a pill this time, that we will crush and sprinkle on top. YUMMY!!!

I am sure he will LOVE it!!!
